Fitness needs change as we age but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy building your strength, improving your conditioning and challenging yourself to achieve new skills and movement abilities.
Our Fit Over 55s classes are designed to address the strength and conditioning needs of more mature bodies. Whether you’re looking to maintain good joint health, build bone density, gain energy or just have fun exercising with a group of like-minded people, give our Fit Over 55s classes a try!

Designed to empower you with good health and fitness, our Fit Over 55s classes are delivered by our team of skilled coaches in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
We combine scientific programming, age and stage specific movement scalability, and community atmosphere to ensure regardless whether you’re just starting out or are an athletic 55+ male or female you will be challenged at your fitness and ability level but not pushed beyond it.
For newbies, our coaches will place emphasis on form and technique to ensure you thrive at the basics. For masters athletes, our coaches will help you maintain your skill and fitness ability, and continue to challenge and support you as you work towards your next PB and fitness goal.
Our Fit Over 55s classes are 60 minutes long and run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-10:30am (commencing June 24). They incorporate a dedicated warm up and down, strength and mobility components and a constantly varied functional movement workout to keep things fun. We keep the class sizes small and focus on safe, controlled movements that protect your joints while helping you build muscle and gain energy.
We have no contracts and no joining fees and invite new adult members to get started with a free trial (not available to out-of-area visitors).

We don’t believe in membership contracts. We want you to stay and continue to train at Hive Active because you love it and because you get results. If you need to exit your membership, or if you think Hive Active is not right for you, no problems. You can cancel at any time. No hassles. You just need to provide 2 weeks notice as your membership fees are deducted fortnightly.

We know that getting started with healthier choices can be really tough, and many people usually fail on their promises to get fit, and some even have countless attempts to keep healthy. That’s why we don’t charge sign up fees. We want to make your journey to starting at Hive Active as easy as possible.

Unlike many gyms, we actually care when you can’t come to class. You’re more than a number or another ‘customer’ to us. We’re together on this journey to become healthier and fitter, and we simply love sharing life with our community. Come in for your first class and not only will you see our incredible community, but also feel what it’s like to become part of our team and family. At Hive Active, it’s always people first and fitness follows.

Hive Active uses Stripe as our payment gateway and membership fees are direct debited fortnightly/

Hive Active absorbs the fees associated with payment processing through Stripe and also our onsite EFTPOS terminal. Please ensure there are sufficient funds in your account at the time of your fortnightly direct payment to avoid any dishonour fees (currently $3).

You are able to put your membership on hold for two to four weeks if you are injured, busier than usual or expecting to spend time out of town. Please email your request two weeks in advance of your hold period and we will arrange to suspend your payments. We’ll need a start and finish date as we will automatically restart your membership when your hold period is complete.
Please note: we can only put a membership on hold for a maximum of four weeks. Anything more is considered a cancellation, which will be carried out in accordance with our normal cancellation terms. Of course, we would love for you to come back and will be happy to discuss renewing your membership at any time.

To cancel your membership, please notify us via email at least two weeks before you plan to stop coming to Hive Active. Once submitted, our friendly team will contact you to arrange your cancellation.
Any cancelled members wishing to re-join will re-commence on the membership rate at the time of rejoining.

If you’re an experienced CrossFitter who is travelling from out of town then we would love to host you. Please see our current casual class and weekly pass pricing above, and ensure there is availability in the class you wish today - i.e. you must book into a class in advance and not just turn up.

Yes, we offer a free trial to residents of the local community who want to try Hive Active for the first time. Simply click on the Free Trial class button above and we will be in contact to organise your No Sweat Intro and first class. After you have attended your free class we encourage you to become part of the community so you can make the most of what our gym has to offer.

Please bring a towel and drink bottle to each session. You may also like to bring your own hand grips, chalk or weight gloves and any other training supports (strapping, weight belts, skipping ropes etc) that you like to use.

Absolutely! While our Fit Over 55s classes are designed specifically for training more mature bodies, all our non-age designated classes are 100% scalable . We recommend starting with our Fundamentals, Foundation and Sunday Thrive classes if you’re looking to expand your training horizons.
